NounsBR

NounsBR started as a group of people wanting to make Brazil more Nounish. Now we are an extension of Nouns DAO, which seeks to introduce Nouns in the diverse cultural manifestations that provide identity and tell the story of our country. NounsBR is also a more accessible avenue for Brazilians (as well as other Portuguese native speakers) to participate in the Nouns ecosystem.

What is a DAO?

A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) is a community-led entity with no central authority. The ability to work in this manner arises from the technology of smart contracts that lay the foundational rules in which the organization is built. At any point, proposals, voting, and even the code can be publicly audited. DAOs are used to make decisions in a bottom-up management approach.

Our Mission

Our mission is to spread the Nouns brand in Brazil and to efficiently guide and support Portuguese-native builders in developing projects that are cool, do good and change lives (aka are nounish), while adding value to Nouns.

What are Nouns?

Nouns are on-chain CC0 artwork randomly generated based on Ethereum block hashes. The traits are made of different backgrounds, bodies, accessories, heads, and glasses. One is created each day and auctioned off. Noun owners control the auction proceeds, and each Noun has one vote in NounsDAO.

Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, NounsBR are stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each NounsBR NFT entitles you to one vote on the DAO. By purchasing one via auction, you will automatically become a member of the DAO and will be able to vote on the proposals deemed most relevant and deserving of funding.
